Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a massive public rally titled ‘Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha’ on the outskirts of Jaipur on September 25. This will mark PM Modi’s first visit to Rajasthan after the conclusion of the BJP’s Parivartan Yatras across the state.
The PM’s rally holds significance as assembly elections are due in Rajasthan later this year. The BJP has positioned this event as PM Modi’s show of strength in a poll-bound state ruled by the Congress.
PM Modi to Address Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha in Jaipur
As per reports, PM Modi will address over 2 lakh people at the Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha in Jaipur’s Mansarovar on September 25.
The Prime Minister will arrive at the rally venue in an open jeep to enable people to catch a glimpse of him. Elaborate arrangements have been made at the venue with 42 blocks, each managed by a woman worker.
This public meeting will conclude the series of Parivartan Sankalp Yatras organized by the BJP across Rajasthan’s 200 assembly seats from September 2-15. Through these yatras, the BJP reached out to over 1 crore people highlighting the failures of the Gehlot government.
PM’s Rally on Deendayal Upadhyay’s Birth Anniversary
The Parivartan Mahasabha date coincides with the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, the ideological guide of the BJP and former leader of Bharatiya Jana Sangh.
PM Modi will pay tributes to Upadhyay at his memorial in Dankya village before arriving for the Jaipur rally. He is expected to emphasize Deendayal Upadhyay’s vision of ‘Antyodaya’ or uplifting the poorest sections, which has been a cornerstone of the Modi government’s welfare schemes.
PM Highlights BJP’s Commitment to Rajasthan’s Development
Ahead of his visit, PM Modi tweeted that the BJP is committed to Rajasthan’s development. He stated that the resolve for change taken up by BJP workers will open doors of Vikas or progress in the state.
At the Jaipur rally, the Prime Minister is likely to present the BJP as the only alternative that can pull Rajasthan out of the vortex of corruption, unemployment, and poor law and order situation under the Gehlot government.
He will underscore how only a double-engine BJP government both at the center and state can fulfill the aspirations of the youth, farmers, and women in Rajasthan.
Parivartan Yatras Across Rajasthan
In an aggressive poll outreach, the BJP embarked on 4 massive Parivartan Sankalp Yatras that covered the entire length and breadth of Rajasthan in September 2023.
The yatras cumulatively traversed over 9000 km while reaching out to crores of people across Rajasthan’s 200 assembly constituencies.
The first yatra was flagged off from Ranthambore by BJP President JP Nadda on September 2. The second yatra led by Home Minister Amit Shah originated in Dungarpur on September 3.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched the third yatra from Jaisalmer on September 4. The fourth yatra was led by Nitin Gadkari starting September 5 from Hanumangarh.
This poll outreach saw participation from BJP’s top national leaders and state leaders. During the yatras, the failures of the Gehlot government were highlighted through public rallies and neighborhood meetings.
The yatras amplified BJP’s election messaging while also energizing its cadre at the grassroots. They underscored the party’s extensive preparations on the ground as BJP seeks to wrest power from Congress in the closely fought Rajasthan elections.
BJP Eyes Return to Power in Rajasthan
The Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha comes just months ahead of the 2023 Rajasthan Elections. After its recent wins in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, and Manipur, the BJP is eyeing a return to power in Rajasthan as well.
The saffron party aims to capitalize on anti-incumbency against the Gehlot government after its full 5-year term. Issues like unemployment, price rise, crime, and dissatisfaction among government employees are likely BJP poll planks.
This is why the Jaipur rally holds importance for PM Modi to energize the BJP cadre and set the tone for the electoral battle ahead. The show of strength demonstrates the BJP’s eagerness to wrest back power it lost narrowly to Congress in 2018.
