According to the tale, Draupadi, the wife of the Pandavas, found herself in exile with limited resources. To satiate the hunger of the five warriors, Draupadi ingeniously combined leftover aloo sabzi (potato curry) and wheat dough, resulting in the creation of bite-sized pani puris. This innovative culinary invention helped alleviate the Pandavas’ hunger and became an enduring symbol of resourcefulness.

Pani Puri assumes diverse identities and is known by different names across the length and breadth of India. In Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, Pani Puri takes the form of delectable bite-sized street food, immersed in a tantalizing blend of boiled chickpeas, white pea mixture, sprouts, and spicy pani (flavored water).
